RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, emergency response, and management of acute or chronic health conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and medical treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for students with medical needs.
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify student health concerns and support academic success.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, healthcare providers, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student health and wellness.
- Educate students and staff on health topics such as hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and overall wellness.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records, documentation, and compliance reports in alignment with state and district requirements.
- Support crisis intervention and emergency preparedness by training staff and participating in school safety planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district health regulations and policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in school nursing and pediatric healthcare.
