REQUIREMENTS
- PTA State Licensure
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in carrying out student evaluations by collecting data and observations related to gross motor skills, mobility, balance, and physical functioning.
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising PT to support student access and participation in educational activities.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve strength, endurance, coordination, posture, and safe movement within the school environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to help integrate physical therapy strategies into classroom routines and school activities.
- Document therapy sessions, student performance, and progress, sharing updates with the supervising PT.
- Support the PT in preparing reports and information needed for IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Monitor student progress during sessions and communicate observations to the supervising PT for potential plan adjustments.
- Participate in training and professional development to stay aligned with best practices in school-based physical therapy.
