  • Art Therapist Certification

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide individual and group art therapy sessions to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.
  • Use creative and therapeutic interventions to help students express themselves, build coping skills, and process experiences.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate art therapy into student support plans and classroom strategies.
  • Assess students’ strengths and needs, developing individualized treatment goals aligned with their academic and personal growth.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions, providing input on mental health, social-emotional goals, and art-based interventions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, treatment plans, progress notes, and compliance reports in accordance with district and state requirements.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed to ensure student safety and well-being.
  • Educate staff and families on the benefits of art therapy and strategies to reinforce emotional expression and resilience at school and home.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore and express themselves through art.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices in art therapy, mental health, and student support services.
