REQUIREMENTS
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) Minimum score of 3.5
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) to ensure access to classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities.
- Facilitate communication between students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, their peers, teachers, and school staff to support inclusion and participation.
- Support student learning by accurately conveying instructional content, classroom directions, and peer interactions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and educational teams to integrate interpreting services into classroom and school routines.
- Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions as appropriate, providing input related to communication access and interpreting services.
- Follow professional guidelines and feedback from supervisors to ensure high-quality and effective interpreting.
- Maintain accurate service logs, documentation, and compliance records as required by school or district policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in educational interpreting and ASL proficiency.
