Orange Tree Staffing is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to “Build and Inspire Growth” by providing education-based services to students at Academy District 20. As a Special Education Instructional Aide / Paraprofessional, you will collaborate closely with teachers and other school staff to enhance the overall learning experience for students. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a positive and inclusive educational environment.


    • BLS Certification
    • CPI Training completed (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training)
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in education or related field is advantageous.
    • Previous experience working in a school setting or with children is preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting diverse student needs.
    • Familiarity with educational technology and a willingness to learn new tools.
    • Respect for the confidentiality of student information.



    • Provide services to students in instructional and classroom activities at the direction of the special education and general education teacher.
    • Assist with direct academic, functional, and specifically designed instructional or physical activities.
    • Tutor individual students and help them prepare assignments or explain material they do not understand.
    • Supervise and accompany special education students to the office, bus, classroom, cafeteria, etc.
    • Communicate regularly with classroom teachers and parents regarding student’s needs and progress.
    • Provide clerical support to teachers, including, but not limited to, creating photocopies, preparing materials, etc.
    • Some positions may require the employee to be able to stay with excessively disruptive or aggressive students, during which time the employee may need to restrain, hold, lift, apply physical management techniques, and crisis intervention techniques for the student.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
