JOB DESCRIPTION

Orange Tree Staffing is seeking a Music Therapist Therapist to “Build and Inspire Growth” by providing education-based services to students at Loudoun County Public Schools. As a Music Therapist, you will work with students to facilitate therapeutic processes using art as a medium for expression and healing. Your role will involve assessing clients’ needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and guiding them through creative activities to address emotional, psychological, and social challenges. You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote holistic well-being and support clients in achieving their therapeutic goals! This position is 2 days a week!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough assessments of students emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and students goals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate music therapy into overall treatment plans
  • Design and implement music therapy sessions using a variety of music-based techniques (e.g., songwriting, improvisation, guided imagery, and music listening).
  • Facilitate group and individual sessions, adapting interventions to suit diverse populations
  • Monitor students progress and adjust therapeutic approaches as needed.
  • Encourage clients to students and express their emotions through music.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress, treatment plans, and session notes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy and make necessary adjustments.
  • Stay current with developments in music therapy techniques and best practices.
  • Handle any necessary administrative duties related to student care and therapy services.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy, Music Education, Psychology, or a related field.
