JOB DESCRIPTION
- Location Of Services: League City, TX
- Hours Per Week: 2.5 Days | 20 hours
- Additional: Part-time Music Therapist. The position is no more than 2.5 days per week and involves monthly sessions for approximately 37 students. This role will cover multiple school locations.

REQUIREMENTS
- Music Therapist Certification
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Student assessment and treatment plans: Assess students’ therapeutic needs through musical responses and use this information to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized music therapy plans that align with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Therapeutic sessions: Conduct both individual and group music therapy sessions using a variety of musical interventions, such as playing instruments, listening to music, songwriting, and improvisation.
- Collaboration: Work with special education teachers, staff, parents, and other team members (like occupational and physical therapists) to coordinate care and integrate therapy goals into the educational setting.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain detailed session notes and progress reports, and participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings to report on student progress and guide future goals.
- Consultation and training: Serve as a resource to other school staff by providing consultation and professional development workshops on effective music therapy strategies.
- Resource management: Assist in selecting, inventorying, and maintaining musical instruments, software, and instructional materials.
- Advocacy: Use music to help students with a wide range of needs, including those with autism, cognitive impairments, emotional disorders, and communication challenges.
- Professional development: Stay current on best practices in music therapy through ongoing training and research.
