JOB DESCRIPTION

Orange Tree Staffing is seeking a Communication Paraprofessional to “Build and Inspire Growth” by providing education-based services to students at Dekalb County School District. Communication paraprofessionals will perform duties that include but are not limited to transporting students to and from the speech therapy location, ensuring students are logged on to the session and are safely engaged, driving from one location to another, requiring reliable transportation, and assisting with making materials and other tasks under the direct supervision of the SLP or Speech and Language department.

REQUIREMENTS

• • Have a high school diploma or college degree
  • Hold a current GA Paraprofessional License
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing special education services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Escort students to and from therapy sessions (Communication Paraprofessionals)
  • Assist speech-language pathologists with creating materials and other duties assigned based on the duties itemized in the GA Professional Standards Commission for Paraprofessionals (Communication Paraprofessionals)
  • Ensure access to reliable transportation to drive from one location to the next to support tele-therapists serving more than one DCSD site
  • Maintain appropriate student files, which will remain the property of DCSD
  • Maintain a daily log of services and hours worked
  • Provide other services as requested
