REQUIREMENTS
- Audiologist State Certification
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations and screenings to identify students with hearing loss or auditory processing difficulties.
- Fit, program, and monitor hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM/DM systems, and other assistive listening devices used in school settings.
- Provide auditory training, listening strategies, and communication support to help students access the curriculum and participate fully in educational activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, speech-language pathologists, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to integrate auditory accommodations into instructional practices.
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, providing input and recommendations on services, accommodations, and technology to support student success.
- Train school staff and families on the proper use and care of amplification devices and classroom listening systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, device management, student progress, and compliance reports.
- Monitor classroom acoustics and make recommendations to improve the listening environment.
- Provide consultation and professional development to educators on hearing health, communication strategies, and inclusion practices.
- Stay current with best practices in educational audiology and emerging technologies through ongoing professional development.
