JOB DESCRIPTION 

Orange Tree Staffing is seeking an Audiologist to “Build and Inspire Growth” by providing education-based services to students at Duval County Public Schools. As an Audiologist, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the hearing health of students, implementing audiological interventions, and collaborating with educational staff to ensure optimal learning environments for all students.


RESPONSIBILITIES 


 

    • Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments for students using various diagnostic tools and techniques.
    • Identify hearing impairments, communication disorders, and related conditions that may impact academic performance.
    • Develop and implement individualized audiological intervention plans based on assessment findings.
    • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the effective use of assistive technology in educational settings.
    • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies that support students with hearing-related challenges.
    • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on goals and accommodations for students with hearing impairments.
    • Provide education and training to school staff, parents, and students on hearing health, hearing loss prevention, and strategies to support students with hearing impairments.
    • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with hearing-related challenges.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and communication with students, parents, and school staff.
    • Generate reports and progress updates for IEP meetings and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Stay current with advancements in audiology and related technologies.
    • Attend professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

REQUIREMENTS

    • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program.
    • State licensure and certification as an Audiologist.
    • Experience working in a school-based setting is preferred.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to working with students.
